Are you passionate about outdoor education, child-led learning, and connecting young minds with nature?
We’re looking for an inspiring Forest School Manager to oversee and grow our vibrant forest school community.

Nestled in beautiful natural surroundings, our Forest School provides children with hands-on, play-based learning experiences in the great outdoors. We’re proud of our nurturing ethos, strong community spirit, and commitment to sustainability and child development.

Skills and knowledge

  • An experienced manager with a full and relevant Level 3 qualification or above
  • Able to demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills
  • Capable of managing administrative duties and day-to-day tasks promptly, ensuring deadlines and priorities are effectively balanced
  • A steady and composed manager who remains calm under pressure, guiding the team with clear and confident decisions
  • A confident communicator and active listener, able to work collaboratively with the team to bring out the best in others
  • A leader who leads by example, but knows when to delegate effectively and make tough decisions when required
  • Ideally a qualified Forest School Leader (Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Experienced in developing and delivering outdoor early years education
  • Creative, organised, and deeply passionate about nature-based learning
  • Committed to fostering curiosity, resilience, and environmental awareness in every child.

As Forest School Manager, you will:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of our forest school provision
  • Manage, support, and develop a team of dedicated forest school and early years educators, in conjunction with our Forest School Leader
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety, safeguarding, and outdoor education
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, staff, and the local community
  • Help shape and expand our forest school’s future growth and vision alongside our Forest School Leader

Requirements

  • Forest School qualification (Level 3 or above) desirable but not essential.
  • A Level 3 full and relevant qualification in Early Years Childcare.
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • A secure understanding of the EYFS and development matters.
  • An enthusiastic, positive and proactive attitude to work.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work in partnership with parents.
  • Comply with all Rainbow Day Nurseries’ policies and procedures.
  • To participate in training and other learning activities/meetings as required.
  • Hold an appropriate first aid qualification or be willing to undertake one.
