The Early Years Foundation Stage or EYFS is a framework of learning, development and welfare for children in the age range from birth to the August after their fifth birthday. This is implemented in all registered early years settings. We are required to meet the learning, development and welfare requirements in the EYFS statutory requirements.

Rainbow Day Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have robust safer recruitment and all our staff have been DBS checked and we update our systems regularly to ensure the ongoing suitability of staff. All staff attend safeguarding training to ensure that procedures are in place to identify signs and indicators of abuse. Staff are vigilant and are fully aware of risks and hazzard and act on them immediately. Systems are in place to monitor and risk assess the environment.

Fees & Funding

Our fees are calculated and charged on a calendar monthly/annualised amount. This allows parents to budget for their monthly outgoings more effectively.

Weekly fees x 51 weeks year / 12 equal payments

£240 x 51 weeks year = £1062.50 per month

All fees are due on the 1st of the month in advance.

The following are all included in your fees:

Yes, we do require a deposit to secure your child’s place at the nursery, and the deposit is usually calculated as one month’s fees. This is retained until your child leaves the nursery and returned in full provided all fees are paid up to date when leaving.

We require payment of fees in full each month, even when your child is sick or on holidays.

The monthly nursery fees are calculated with Bank Holidays included and pro-rated in the fees throughout the year.

Starting Nursery and Settling In

Yes, we do offer settling in sessions at no cost. These usually take place in the weeks prior to your child starting nursery.

When you confirm your child’s place, you will be given a Welcome Pack that outlines all the items you will need to take with you.

We communicate via an app for smartphones or other devices. This shows all the observations carried out on your child and other information relating to your child such as sleep, meals, nappy changing and finance. This is updated daily.

A Key Worker is a named member of staff with a special relationship and responsibility for a small group of children.  A Key Worker helps those children feel safe and cared for. Your child will be assigned a named member of staff when they start. This is to help ensure that every child’s care is tailored to meet their individual needs. This person will help the child settle into the room and become familiar with the setting, and they will develop a bond with the child and the parents/carers.

The children to adult ratios are as follows:

Under 2 years: 1:3
2 to 3 years: 1:4
Over 3 years: 1:8

Food and Dietary Requirements

Yes, we offer a range of food and menus to cater for children with special dietary needs. Our chefs work with parents to facilitate the child’s individual needs.

We are a nut free zone.
